Mesothelioma occur when mesothelium cells grow in heavy order and develop the tumors. According to these tumors, they can be cancerous or not but mostly are cancerous. These cancerous tumors cause Malignant mesothelioma which is called mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is caused due to the contact of fibrous materials like asbestos. Nearby 75% cases of Mesothelioma are due to asbestos. Asbestos is used in manufacturing, building and textile work. The small particles of asbestos are inhaled which cause the disease like asbestis, cancer like Mesothelioma.

Mesothelium cells can be divided into three types.

  • Peritoneum : The cells which covers abdominal cavity organs are called peritoneum.
  • Pericardium : These cells covers the heart.
  • Pleura : These cells covers lungs.

According to these cells Mesothelioma can be divided into three types.

Although there are some particular symptoms related to specific type of the Mesothelioma but most common symptoms are

  • Abdominal pain
  • Chest pain
  • Weight loss
  • Breathing problem(wheezing)
  • Cough
  • Blood clots in veins
  • Jaundice
  • Low Sugar level in blood
  • Bowel problem
  • Swelling in abdominal
  • Irregular heart beat

  • The people working with asbestos are advised to mask their mouth while working, this reduces the inhalation of asbestos.
  • Don’t smoke while working with asbestos.
  • Should change the cloths while leaving the place of work.
  • Should take shower after the work.
  • Thorium dioxide can also cause the mesothelioma, so be prepared.
  • A regular check up is advised if some family member is suffered form mesothelioma.
